At the Westshore Denture Clinic, we provide you with exceptional customer service, the best fitting dentures, and the most natural and bright smile – one that you will be proud to share! Our denturist, Cole Merkley, places a high value on education so that you know what to expect from the denture experience, the denture fabricating process, and the best treatment plan for your needs. He is always happy to answer all of your questions and will take the time necessary to ensure you have all the information necessary to make the best decision for you. Dental financing, electronic billing and block appointments to meet your scheduling needs are also available.
Cole Merkley brings a wide skill set to Westshore Denture Clinic. This training combined with Cole’s own artistic ability has allowed him to develop exceptional skills in “aesthetic restoration” – the ability to make dentures look as natural as possible. With an ability to combine aesthetic restoration with functional excellence, Cole has attracted quite a fan base over the years with many patients following him throughout his career.
Choosing a Denturist is a very important decision that can affect both the health of your wallet as well as the health of your mouth. It’s a good idea to meet with a number of Denturists in your area to ensure they are properly registered and to enquire about their education, years of experience and any advanced training they may have, as well as any special abilities or skills they bring to their practice. Educate yourself about what work is done on-site, what fabrication processes are available, what kinds of materials, equipment and techniques are used, and the availability of wax try-in models. Since it typically takes 4-6 appointments for most complete dentures, find someone you feel comfortable with, who can also explain your particular dental situation, and answer your questions.

Cole Merkley was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta and has established successful practices in Calgary, Alberta; Brisbane, Australia, and Victoria, British Columbia. He graduated from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology and has over 30 years of experience as a ‘smile stylist.’ Cole is a member of the College of Denturists of British Columbia, a member of the Denturist Association of B.C. and he has specialized training in the bio-functional prosthetic system (BPS), developed by Ivoclar. Cole also studied at the Swissedent Foundation in Los Angeles with Dr. John Frush, creator of the ‘dentogenics’ concept, described as the art, practice and technique of creating the illusion of natural teeth with artificial dentures.
It was at the Swissedent Foundation, that Cole discovered that he could use his artistic talent to create natural-looking, precision dentures that are as individual as the patients he serves. Cole excels at aesthetic restoration (the art of making a denture look as natural as possible) and he strives to give his patients the best smile possible for their unique features and personality. Cole also travelled to Tokyo, Japan in 2017 to complete the training necessary to offer the Japanese Lower Suction Denture. This denture utilizes new methods to provide a lower denture with much greater suction than conventional lower dentures. When Cole isn’t looking after his patients, he enjoys fitness, painting, travel, photography, reading, cooking and movies.
